Smart Sound Processing for the Digital Living

Cognitive Listening > Description

 Universidad de Alcalá
 Project Coodinators:
Manuel Rosa Zurera and Roberto Gil Pita

The sub-project "Cognitive Listening", jointly carried out by researchers of the Applied Signal Processing Group at the University of Alcala (UAH) and professors from the University of Las Palmas de Gran Canaria (ULPGC), is focussed on the analysis of acoustic scenes, both in close and open scenarios. This project tries to put a set of localization, separation and classification techniques together. The researchers involved in the project have remarkable experience in the field of study, concretely in two practical applications: the detection of critical events for the prevention of violence and endangering events, both in the home/building area (smart home living lab) and in open spaces; and the integration of hearing impaired persons in the acoustic scene.
